At the time of Eve, oysters arrive on tables these traditional crustacean celebrations need a worthy accompaniment, and wine seems to be the best ally of oysters in these holiday periods. As there are different types of oysters, we can accompany them with different wines. The bunches offers you a wide choice of wines that will satisfy your taste buds!

Oysters, wines and. Eve!

Oysters and wine are readily available, especially during festive meals before the opening of Christmas presents! These two dishes are a good match at this end of year period. If some may be put off by the texture of the oyster, the wine could make everyone agree and become a reason to taste them to finally not be able to pass!

Oysters and dry white wine: the tradition

This is the tradition! Oysters have long been accompanied by dry, fruity white wines. Indeed these wines with acidulous persistence will accompany the iodine taste of the oyster, which will sublimate the palate in the mouth. The wine must be very fresh to accompany the oysters, and it can accord with both cold oysters and hot oysters.

Here, the choice is wide, but we propose you for a classic accord the white wine Dena Dela white dEgia Tegia. The vineyard from which it comes is located on the hills facing the ocean, and the bottles are raised under the sea in the bay of Saint Jean de Luz. These wines have iodized and acidic aromas that are perfect with oysters. We stay near the sea with this wine!

You can traditionally choose to accompany your oysters with dry white wine. In this case, you can choose Muscadet, Chablis, or Sancerre. For an exotic side, Alsatian wine will do the job with, for example, a white Sylvaner from Alsace.

Less traditional agreements

To vary the pleasures, do not hesitate to opt for the champagne: the bubbles reinforce the acidic flavors of the wine and thus bring more freshness during the tasting. Also, the champagne served as an aperitif will arrive at the same time as the oysters at the beginning of the meal. It will also go very well with hot oysters. We, therefore, recommend a raw or extra brut champagne-like those of our winemaker Jeaunaux Robin that will go perfectly with hot oysters on a plate or as a starter. The fine bubbles and leniency of these champagnes will sublimate the product and balance the iodized side.

To stay in the originality, you can also serve red wine to accompany oysters: it comes out of the ordinary white wine and champagne. The Dental Dela Rouge dEgia Tegra remains in the same spirit, fruity, but retains this fresh side and well balanced at the level of acidity.

Good tasting at all and happy holidays!
