How should you store red wine after opening?

I'm a wine beginner and opened a bottle to have with my Sunday dinner. I don't like drinking during the week though, so I may not touch it again for a few days. How should I be storing it? It's just a cheap bottle of red wine. Nothing too fancy. What would be the best way to keep it good for 5-6 days?
I googled before asking this, but I couldn't find a straight answer. Some said refrigerate, others say leave it out in a dark place.
