Wine beginner trying to surprise girlfriend

So I'm planning a weekend away with my girlfriend, want to get some champagne, trying to learn about wine sweetness because the closest she's had to champagne before is asti and she likes that.

I recently learned about the wine sweetness scale (Brut, Sec, Demi-sec, doux etc.), I am wondering where asti would sit on said sweetness scale so that I can look for something similar sweetness.
