Not sure if this is allowed if not please remove asap. However after going through my cellar and looking into the bottles that I hold between my NY and San Francisco cellars I stumbled across 4 magnums of the 1999 Chateau De Ferrand, I've never tried this wine before and was wondering if anyone is familiar with them? I know 99 was a little rough for St. Emillion but was hoping for some insight! Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
C0PT

Dear Athan,
ReplyDeleteWe are delighted to answer you personally!
Château de Ferrand is a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux region. Our vineyard covers 32 hectares with 70% merlot, 29% cabernet franc and 1% cabernet sauvignon. To find out more on our wines, our terroir and our experiences, we invite you to visit our website www.chateaudeferrand.com.
Regarding your tasting, Château de Ferrand 1999 in magnum is fully ripe! To bring out the very best in this vintage, our sommelier advises you to open it 1h30 before (without decanting). This vintage will perfectly pair with a Comté cheese 18 months or a tender meat with fried mushrooms.
Have a lovely tasting and looking forward to hearing from you!
