Hello, oenophiles of Reddit! I am looking to purchase an elegant bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for a friend with a discerning palate and personality. She has mentioned that she likes Pinot Grigio and French Chardonnay (but not Californian, per her own words), but I do believe that SB is her preference. From what I have been able to glean from her, she leans towards the drier and not-so-fruity side. I usually show up to dinner at her home with a bottle or two of Château La Gaffelière and/or Château Pavie-Macquin St. Émilion in tow as this is pleasing to her husband. With this in mind, would you all help me with your thoughtful suggestions and recommendations on what Sauvignon Blanc to offer her as a gift? I would greatly appreciate the help! TYIA!

ReplyDeleteYou should check Château Puygueraud - Francs Côtes de Bordeaux (the white wine). It's 100% Sauvignon blanc and made by Nicolas Thienpont, same winemaker as Château Pavie Macquin. Or also Les Charmes-Godard (semillon and sauvignon).
