Need some guidance

Hello All,

I have been primarily a German/Belgian beer and scotch drinker for the past few years. I have enjoyed wine over the years, specifically from Italy (mostly blends from Tuscany and Sicily), Australia (Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc) and South America (Malbec, carmenere and Torrontes), but am trying to branch out to try more French wines. I would like some guidance as to where to start because it’s seems very intimidating at this time. My flavor profiles of interest tend to be along some minerality, mild-moderate sweetness, some oakiness, and a moderate amount of fruit/jam notes. Any help would be appreciated. So far I’ve tried a couple of cote du Rhône, Viognier, Syrah and Bordeaux Superiore with all of them being 2017-2018 vintages and in the 15-25 $ range.
