Wine Club/Tasting Group Theme Ideas

I'm in the process of getting a tasting group off the ground. The group will be mostly enthusiasts rather than pros. The format is generally "bring a bottle of wine to the monthly meeting and let's taste lots of things." We'll probably do a fair number of blind tastings, focused more on "do you like this or not" without knowing the bottle or cost rather than "identify the grape/region/producer." I'd like to style the monthly meetings around themes, for example:

  • a specific grape or region
  • your favorite wine <$15
  • wines to pair with turkey dinner
  • wines to pair with X
  • a wine you love that someone you know hates
  • a wine you're interested in but haven't tried
  • a wine from a relatively unknown part of the wine world

What other themes would be fun?
