Help with new year's wine.

First of all, happy holidays to everyone in this community!

I need your help with some wines. We have a Coppola Eleonor (Cabernet-Syrah) or Torbreck Steading (GSM) in the cellar and we were wandering which one we should open for our New Year's Meal...

Also I think both of these wines should be aerated for about an hour? Is decanting necessary?
