Bringing wine from South Africa to EU

I’m not sure if this is the best spot for this question or if it belongs elsewhere, but I’m hoping there are some traveling wine-o’s here that can help us!

We live in Germany and are traveling to Cape Town next summer. We have been before and love their wine, but we know shipping it back was prohibitively expensive. We brought the standard 2 bottles each last time but would really like to bring more this time. We have brought cases of wine as checked luggage on flights so are thinking of doing the same. We know we will then have to declare it. What we can’t figure out is… does anyone know how much/if any duty we will pay on it?

We brought 2 cases from France to the US and declared it and they didn’t charge anything since it was only 18 bottles total and not enough to be selling. But we have no experience with flying into the EU with it. We fly into Paris/CDG if it’s country specific.
