Staying in Tain L’Hermitage in Rhone

Will be visiting Rhone for 4-5 days in a few weeks. I was thinking about staying in Tain l'Hermitage for the whole time and basically drive up and down the valley. I just really hate to change hotels every day or every couple of days. Will I miss much by not staying in other villages/towns? I will probably focus 2 days in Northern Rhone and 2 days in Southern Rhone. Thank you!
