Do Coravin Screw Caps make Timeless have essentially the same functionality as Pivot?

I’m more of casual drinker so the Coravin Pivot is better suited to my everyday needs but having the option of the Timeless functionality for natural cork bottles is also enticing. Can I emulate the functionality of the Pivot with the Timeless by using the Standard Screw Caps on non natural cork or screw top bottles? How long do the Standard Screw Cap bottles last (assuming you use them immediately upon opening)? As long as the Pivot system? Better, worse? Thank you
