Hey y'all, I have come across the opportunity to snag a reasonably-priced bottle of 2008 Vigneto Gallina (ex-restaurant cellar). However I have never drank anything from this producer, and knowing they are a hyper-modernist I'm not sure I will enjoy it and it would still be a big splurge for me. I am pretty averse to strong new oak flavour in red wines, and generally don't favour very plush styles.
What is everyone's experience with this producer? Would you snap this up (below market price)?
For 15 years, Athan Zafirov has traveled the vineyards around the world and worked with some of the greatest chefs including Francois Duc and Alan Brown.
