Why Does This /Sub Attract So Many Pretentious People?

It’s truly amazing and somewhat disheartening how many pretentious and full of themselves people post here on a regular basis. Why do you think that is? Is it just the nature of wine or is it the nature of Reddit? A combination?

I just don’t get why so many miserable people feel the need to talk down and make others feel inferior about fermented grape juice in a glass bottle.
