Vegetarian pairing assistance needed - Ottolenghi Portobello Steaks and Butter Beans mash

Hi wine experts!

I wanted to hear some different opinion on a pairing for this dish (link below). I'm making it for NYE and wanted to play around with some flavours. Knee-jerk reaction is go for Pinot Noir, but I'd love to hear what you guys have to say.
