Wine Tasting-Why is nothing decanted?

Now that I’m a little older and wiser about wine, it dawned on me that when my wife and I would go wine tasting ages ago, even the decent wine makers would open and pour their work as we tasted. Why is decanting not a thing even at low volume vineyards?
For 15 years, Athan Zafirov has traveled the vineyards around the world and worked with some of the greatest chefs including Francois Duc and Alan Brown.
