The best country/region in Europe for wine lovers/makers?

I am thinking about the purchasing a property in Europe like a small vacation house. But I’m also thinking about the producing wine there later.

This subreddit has a lot of wine makers and wine lovers, so I would like to ask you guys what would be the best place to get a house and surround myself with people who have the same interest as me in wine. I’m mostly deciding between France and Portugal. But would love to hear your opinions too.
