Hi all,
I’m a wine enthusiast (not a sommelier) and developer who hacked together a side project: an app that scans restaurant wine lists and suggests ratings + food pairings.

I know there are plenty of tools and a lot of expertise already in this space, so I’m honestly not sure if this is solving a real problem or just a “cool tech demo.”
A couple of things I’d love your perspective on: • When you’re dining out, would you ever actually use something like this, or does it feel unnecessary? • For pairings: do you prefer general “this wine goes with X” suggestions, or more contextual (based on the restaurant’s food menu)?
I’m not here to advertise more curious whether wine lovers think something like this adds value or if I should chalk it up as a fun project.
Appreciate any honest thoughts!
