My local wine shop closed. How to find new wines now?

I had a friend overnight who asked me how I find new wines to try, and I realized my answer was pretty boring: "I just buy the same stuff I know I like." It's really made me want to shake things up, but I feel a bit stuck. My go-to local wine shop unfortunately closed down, so I've lost my main source of expert advice. Trying new things at restaurants is great, but it's gotten too expensive to use as a regular discovery tool, and I feel like I've already tried all my friends' favorites. So, outside of the great recommendations I see in this subreddit, I'm turning to you all. What's your secret for finding that next "wow" bottle when the usual paths are blocked? Are you a bargain hunter who lets a good sale at a supermarket or online retailer make the decision for you? Till now I've rejected that, because it always feels like they discount the bottles nobody else wants. I went to local tasting events and wine fairs, but again this is very limited to the wines from my region.

I'm genuinely curious to hear the different ways people in this community explore the vast world of wine. Any and all tips for breaking out of a comfortable rut would be hugely appreciated!
