Two weeks in Tuscany - what am I drinking?

I’m headed to Tuscany - Florence, Siena, Forte dei Marmi - for two weeks in March/April this year. I’ve got a decent amount of wine knowledge thanks to decades of “research”, let’s say strong amateur, not pro/industry level. I’ll be traveling with family including kids so the trip won’t be exclusively about wine and I want to make the most of the opportunities I have.

Preference-wise I like wines that are more refined than rustic, but generally very open and want to learn and try good things. Wanted to swing by Gaja Ca’Marcanda but they’ll be closed for renovation while I’m there.

So, my question to you, good Redditors of /wine- where/what am I drinking? I have a good budget and am willing to splurge a bit. And what, if anything, is worth shipping back to home in the US?
