Am currently in Croatia but due to unexpected illness we were forced to tweak our plans away from going to wineries and wine bars on the Dalmatian Coast (weeping since we were supposed to be in Hvar today). But we still would like to bring back several wines, especially ones that are hard to come by or way marked up in the U.S. We are ending the trip in Zagreb so would probably purchase the wines there. Any recommendations for fantastic wines to look out for, or great wine bars or shops that do tastings allowing us to sample several? Any price fine up to $200/bottle (don’t expect that to be an issue here). Enjoy a wide range of reds and whites so style not really an object. I am generally aware of Plavac Mali and Grk as the indigenous grapes as well. Did try and enjoy both the Volarevic PM and the Degarra Bontera. Appreciate any help!
