I recently found an old empty Lafitte Wine Barrel in NSW Australia and was hoping someone could help me identify what might have been in it. I would love to buy some wine from that particular season even though it may be really expensive. It says Lafitte on the top and besides that there are no other markings on the top nor near the bung hole.

Are there any signs I could look for?
