A close friend of mine is getting married in the fall, and asked me for Champagne recommendations to serve with dinner and for a toast. The wedding will be in the EU, but he doesn't live here.
I have a couple in mind, and I know I could get Taittinger for 34 euros a bottle. Sekt would potentially offer more bang-for-the-buck, but I think they'd prefer Champagne. Paul Sugot, a small producer, has his basic cuvée at 27, and his Grand Cru at 34 euros.
We can have the wine shipped in the EU, so buying directly, even from a small producer, wouldn't be a problem. Order is probably 3-5 cases.
Budget: Ideally around 30 Euros, although a little higher might be possible.
If anyone has a suggestion I'd be very grateful!
