We are hobby collectors of mostly nice drinkable wines. But we have a few bottles as an investment that is planned to be sold sometime around 2040. How would you sell this collection? 2 bottles each of Chateau Margaux, Chateau Hautebrion, Mouton Rothschilde, Lafite Rothschilde and Chateau d'yquem from 2020 to 2029. The bottles we’ve already received from the premiere orders are in professional storage and will stay there until the sale. Would you sell it as a whole lot? As verticals of a single chateau? Good years in a set and not so good years as singles? We won’t be talking to any auction houses for awhile yet so hoping for advice from people who’ve sold collections before.
