What's one wine "rule" you completely ignore?

People always talk about pairing red with meat, white with fish, letting bottles breathe, serving at the perfect temperature...
But what's a wine "rule" you've happily broken?
For me, if I enjoy the glass, that's all that really matters. I've had inexpensive bottles that I liked more than some expensive ones.
What's your unpopular wine opinion or habit?
