Wine pairing for "pasta" mystery dish

Been tasked with pairing wine for a "pasta dish" - no more information given (friend of a friend of a friend.... so can't really chase) and at short notice.

Any cover-all super safe wine offerings that we think might be suitable? It will be vegetarian (pescatarian strictly speaking) so definitely no meat but it MIGHT be fish.

Can therefore presumably rule out heavy meaty tomato pasta dishes so thinking of avoiding red overall. Unless perhaps something super light? Beaujolais of some kind?

I was thinking a dry white of some kind - picpoul, albarino, pinot gris etc etc as a safe bet?

Or perhaps a rose?

Any advice gratefully appreciated - actually quite a fun task if i'm honest.
