Storing champagne?

My husband and I were gifted a bottle of champagne for our wedding spring 2025. We don't drink alcohol so we wanted to regift it to my brother and his fiance for their wedding next summer.

For 16 months now we've kept the bottle in our basement closet where temps can range about 55-75 degrees. Will keeping it in this environment for another year or so ensure the champagne is safe and still tastes as it should? Thanks!
