Visiting Bordeaux for a week, look for Châteaux recommendations

I'm visiting with my parents, my mum is a huge history buff, and we're staying about an hour north of St. Émilion in Montmoreau.

I'd love to show them around a bit and they're really keen to visit a few wine estates next week, but I've only ever visited estates with work / filming, all of which are less tourist-focused and very access restrictive.

So, where are the good châteaux to check out for a good experience, a bit of dégustation etc. ? Thinking sort of Phélan Ségur or Pontesac level, but probably around Saint Émilion.

I'd love your recommendations; where did you have really positive experiences?
