ISO DMV-area somm/wine enthusiast to help with inventory and cellar reduction :)

Hi All! I have a growing cellar that I’m shortly going to be moving out of its current off site storage site. After a number of years collecting and now realizing the use cases that make most sense for me (large family events, larger dinners, etc.), I’m focusing more on a smaller quantity of large format bottles rather than continuing to rapidly expand my 750ml collection. There are also regions that, while I love them, really make very little sense for me to continue storing for the long run (ie. large holdings of Jurancon, weaker appellations in Burgundy, random Bordeaux). I’m honestly just too busy right now between work, kids, house stuff, to spend the time to work through what I have in storage, renew my inventory (right now I have a combo of CellarTracker and Excel), and flag large chunks of the collection to send to auction. I’d love an external set of eyes to tell me, without any emotional ties, what they recommend keeping and what they recommend getting rid of. I’m generally well aware of what I have and what should go, but just looking for a second opinion to confirm my thoughts or bring up new options to cut.

If you (or someone you know) is in the DC area, is a somm or is a wine aficionado, and is interested in doing inventory, reviewing bottles to sell, and helping to lay out a plan for the future, I’d love to hear from you. Open to various payment formats (hourly, fixed fee, in kind, etc), so open to discussion on that front.

Feel free to DM me or comment here. I’d like to start the conversation in Reddit before taking it offline.
