What wine should I use in a creamy mushroom sauce?

I have absolutely (almost) no experience or knowledge about wine or alcohol, but one of my fav meals is mushroom sauce with pasta and white wine should be used in it, normally I have just used alcohol free wine my mom bought, but now I’m living alone and I wanna try out real wine, but there are so many kinds I have no idea which I should use or even what the difference is between different wines. I would like to get more experienced with wine. But idk where to start.
